Benefit to aid domestic violence victims
Sunday, June 3 at the Drake Hotel, Rainbow House will honor individuals and companies who have made outstanding contributions in raising awareness about domestic violence and its prevention at the 16th Annual Bread & Roses Benefit. Rainbow House is a Chicago-based nonprofit agency working to end domestic violence.

A highlight of this year's event is the collaboration of Chef Kocoa Scott-Winbush of Kocoa's Kitchen (center), pastry, Chefs Kader Temkit (left) and Robert Epskamp (right) and Maus Tenbergen (not pictured) of

Kendall College School of Culinary Arts and three high school students from the Gallery 37 Culinary Arts Apprentice Program to prepare the deserts.

This collaboration offers a wonderful opportunity for the professional chefs to monitor the students in gourmet food preparation as well. Bread & Roses 2001 begins at 5:30 p.m. with a champagne reception and silent auction, followed at 7 p.m. by the award presentations and dinner. Tickets for the event are $150 per person.
