| Benefit to aid domestic violence victims | ||||||||||
| Sunday, June 3 at the Drake Hotel, Rainbow House will honor individuals and companies who have made outstanding contributions in raising awareness about domestic violence and its prevention at the 16th Annual Bread & Roses Benefit. Rainbow House is a Chicago-based nonprofit agency working to end domestic violence. A highlight of this year's event is the collaboration of Chef Kocoa Scott-Winbush of Kocoa's Kitchen (center), pastry, Chefs Kader Temkit (left) and Robert Epskamp (right) and Maus Tenbergen (not pictured) of |
Kendall College School of Culinary Arts and three high school students from the Gallery 37 Culinary Arts Apprentice Program to prepare the deserts. This collaboration offers a wonderful opportunity for the professional chefs to monitor the students in gourmet food preparation as well. Bread & Roses 2001 begins at 5:30 p.m. with a champagne reception and silent auction, followed at 7 p.m. by the award presentations and dinner. Tickets for the event are $150 per person.
