in the professions of food, fine beverage and hospitality.

Where: Eli’s Cheesecake Co. 6701 W. Forest Preserve Dr., Chicago Free parking

Price: $10.00 per person, kids under 12 free

MARKET ACTIVITIES:

· NEW GREEN CITY MARKET: Seasonal produce, herbs, flowers, organic meats, farm-raised fish from local vendors

· WINE TASTINGS: Les Dames purveyors of wines invite you to taste an affordable array of wines for summer – with ideas for food and wine combinations.

· A GOURMET ‘S DELIGHT FLEA MARKET: “Gently” used kitchen equipment, gadgets, tabletop items and cookbooks from the kitchens of Chicago’s savviest women food professionals

· THE ULTIMATE CAKEWALK: Chicago’s best homemade cakes are prizes at this old-fashioned game event repeated throughout the day.

· ETHNIC STREET FOODS: Women chefs create the flavors and scents of exotic markets around the world

· WEBER GRILL RAFFLE: Two “silver series” gas grills plus contributions from all Market participants raffled in hourly drawings.

· LES DAMES INFORMATION FAIR: Your chance to meet and talk with Les Dames members representing the Gourmet and Corporate food worlds.

· LES DAMES UNIVERSITY: Half-hour presentations by Les Dames members on timely subjects such as farmer’s market produce, cheese, spices, cooking with wine, and caviar will be repeated throughout the day.

· KIDS CAN COOK CLASSES: Continuous, participatory food related activities with nutritional themes for children.

· FOOD IN ART: Members of Gallery 37 join women artists and artisans with arts and crafts featuring food subjects.

· CELEBRITY COOKBOOK SALES: Les Dames members autograph and sell their books
